Green water and blanket weed are different problems
Identify what is happening before choosing equipment or treatment.
Look at the form
Suspended green water is different from long strands of blanket weed. A UV clarifier is intended for suspended algae; it does not physically remove attached strands.
Review the pond routine
Sunlight, nutrients, feeding, stocking and accumulated waste all contribute to the conditions algae use. Mechanical removal, sensible feeding and maintenance can be part of a longer-term plan.
Think about oxygen
Heavy growth and its sudden death can change oxygen demand. Do not assume killing algae instantly makes the pond safer. Monitor the fish and keep appropriate aeration.
Check species restrictions
Sturgeon may be vulnerable to tangled strands and to some algae treatments. Read the exact product instructions and seek specialist advice before treating a mixed pond.
Show what you are seeing
Take one photo of a water sample in a clear container and another of the pond surface or attached growth. Include UV details, cleaning dates and recent changes when asking for help distinguishing the problem.
