Keep the food fresh after opening
A large bag is only good value if it stays suitable until you finish it.
Follow the label
Note the best-before date and opened-storage guidance. Keep the original label or a photograph with the batch details so you can check ingredients and trace the product if needed.
Control moisture and heat
Store food sealed, cool and dry, away from direct sun and chemicals. Use a clean dry scoop. Do not return damp leftovers to the bag or mix old questionable food into a new supply.
Buy for your actual routine
Use the feeding planner to compare bag life. Seasonal changes, fewer fish or a reduced ration may make a smaller bag more practical even when a larger one costs less per kilogram.
If something seems wrong
Discard food with mould, pests or an unusual smell rather than feeding it experimentally. Contact the supplier with the batch details about a possible product issue.
Label the opened bag
Write the opening date on the pack and keep the batch and best-before details readable. If you transfer food to a container, keep the original label with it rather than losing the ingredients and storage instructions.
