Feeding & storage

The published label suggests 2–3 small feeds daily, only as much as the fish consume within 3–5 minutes. It gives 10°C and above as the ideal feeding temperature and says to reduce feeding below 10°C. Match feeding to appetite and water tests; don’t leave leftovers in the pond.

Store sealed, cool and dry, away from direct sunlight. Use clean, dry utensils. Follow the current bag directions if the formulation or guidance changes.

Sinking Koi & Sturgeon Food 3mm

Below the surface

Sinking Koi & Sturgeon Food 3mm

A sinking 3mm pellet. The current listing states 25% protein and 7% oil. Water stability describes how a pellet holds together; it is not a reason to leave uneaten food in the pond.

For sturgeon, confirm the complete diet and protein/oil specification for your species with us before relying on this as its sole feed.

Feeding calculator

How long will your food last?

This is a buying estimate using a daily ration you choose from the food label or your established routine. Fish length alone doesn’t reliably tell us their weight.

Calculated from your inputs

Your feeding estimate

See the daily amount, bag life and a reminder about the water temperature you entered.

An estimate is not an automatic feeder setting. Watch the fish and adjust for appetite, condition, water tests and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Practical feeding tips

  • Observe meals. Remove leftovers promptly and reduce the next ration if food is being missed.
  • Keep food cool, dry and sealed. Mark the bag’s opening date and use it within the label’s guidance.
  • Check temperature and water quality before increasing feed. More food increases the filter’s workload.
  • Sturgeon need their own feeding plan, including in cooler conditions. Don’t apply a koi winter rule to every species.
